I was born in India. So naturally, I love Cricket. Majority of the population in India love this game. And I have always wondered, why cricket and not any other games? Why not Golf or Baseball? Why not rugby? Is it because these games are not as good as cricket? NO.

This is because of the herd mentality. We don’t know the rules of the game. We don’t know how the points are scored or how it’s lost. We know very little about these games and so we just conclude that naah… it’s not that interesting. It’s boring!! It’s no fun. And there are some who could go on to say that, ‘don’t know what’s so great about these games’ or ‘don’t know why so many people are passionate about this game… must be crazy!’

But is this true? No. Several people love these games. They find their happiness in following those games, by being a player, coach, spectator, reporter, media person etc…

This led me to ponder over a thought…Is life also like this? What if we look at life like a game? If so, do I know the rules? How can I make this game worthwhile? How can I have fun and be passionate? How can I find Happiness? HOW CAN I MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL??

If Life was a game, then is there a way to know all the rules? How will I lose the points and how can I get them back? I didn’t know then. I was living a gloomy heavy life. I was taking life too seriously. A failure in any area was treated as if now there’s no tomorrow. Everything is ruined. All is lost. I failed in my relationship, I failed in my business, I lost money through some bad investments, my trust was also broken. I was doomed… and lost…

Once I started looking at life from this angle, as a game, everything felt better. I thought that to lose a game or two, might not be a big deal. Because I know that tomorrow, I’ll play again. And when I start the next game, it will be with the same excitement and passion. But to find my path wasn’t easy. I needed a mentor, a coach, a role model.

It’s like the saying goes, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

Thanks to this universe, people came into my life to make me understand, became my mentor, coach and my role model. Also, many books, workshops and videos made me find myself. I sought help and I got it.

It took me years to understand this. I could see a different word for the same event. FAILURE became LEARNING EXPERIENCES!! Suddenly Life became lighter and brighter. I started to experience happiness from within, even though my circumstances and situation had not changed much. I gathered my team, strategized and am playing ‘The Game of Life’ again with new enthusiasm and vigour.

So, friends the **condition applied to this Game called Life in my understanding is that it’s okay to lose. It’s okay to fail. Tomorrow, the results will change with an improved attitude and new skill sets. What should you do if you lose again? Take a pause, form a team, have a team meeting, brainstorm, strategize, prepare and play again!! You need to understand which aspect of your game needs improvement. Is it your health, your attitude, skills, finance, relationships (Spouse, parenting, friendship), career, spirituality? Zero down on the issue. Analyze and decide upon an action.

Any successful sportsman won’t be successful without help, without their team. So go, find your team, your support staff, make the changes, improve and play again. And before you start, remember…It’s okay to lose. Because LIFE IS A GAME.

So, be grateful, be happy, love life, enjoy and keep playing. Wishing you all a beautiful life(game). All the best!! It’s Love ALL!!
